A lot of the tips and structure for cold emailing will still apply even if you’re not selling your own product.
That’s because you’re still trying to achieve the same thing:
- Capture your prospect’s attention
- Avoid landing in spam or getting unsubscribes (that is if you’re overly salesy)
- And finally get positive replies or signups.
Now, whether or not a cold emailing campaign for affiliate marketing will be effective or not depends on many more factors than just the email campaign. (The product, the market, the competition to name a few)
The great advantage that startups have when cold emailing, is that they can capture feedback to improve their product. When you’re selling a product as an affiliate you can’t do this.
